SuperSETH

Here are a few pics of Seth in his Halloween costume. He just won't stand/sit still long enough to take good pics, but here are a couple that turned out pretty good. Below the Superman pics are pics from his very first Halloween when he was a little monkey. Oh how he has grown!

Go NOLES!!!

What a great weekend...Florida State won, Miami and UF LOST (HA!). It doesn't get much better than that!
Here are a few pics of Seth in his new FSU hat that Nanny gave him.

Seth's new "thing"

Here is a video of Seth's new thing. He absolutely loves books and loves for us to read them to him, but now, he will sometimes grab a book and open it and start "pretending" to read all by himself. So cute.

Garage Sale Jackpot!

I forgot to mention that not this weekend but the weekend before, I hit the jackpot at a garage sale! This kind of thing never happens to me, but lady luck was shining on me that day! I knew that there were some neighborhood garage sales going on, so I packed Seth up in the car and we headed out. The very first house we arrived at I could tell had a bunch of toddler toys. I can't even begin to remember how many items I got that day, but I saw a kangaroo climber sitting there, so out of curiosity i ask how much. The guy says to me that they just want to get rid of stuff so I could have it for $2! I wasn't sure if I heard right because those things brand new are nearly $150 and this one was in nice shape. I also got a brand new infant swing, a laugh and learn chair (which Seth LOVES!), another table toy (in pic), little people farm, a musical ball popper toy thingie, tickle me elmo, another huge box full of random toys, and bed rail, some nice name brand clothes...and so much more all for only $25!!!!! Brand new that stuff easily was over $500. I had to call Jerry to come help me load it in his truck! It was like Christmas in September for Seth! Here are just a few pics of what I got:

Another weekend recap

We had such a wonderful weekend! I feel like a broken record, but again, Seth continues to do and say so many wonderful and exciting things. Apparently, he has been saying Please at daycare, or "pease". His teachers say that they love it when he does that! I hate to say, but I wasn't even aware that he did say that, so the other day when he asked for milk, I said, "say please" and he said "pease". I also asked him to say "thank you" and he said "tank ooh". This boy will honestly repeat almost everything I ask him to now and he even says it very clearly! Yesterday we were visiting Jerry's brother, Eric, his fiance, Lauren and Seth's grand father. We were all sitting down to lunch and Seth started throwing his cup on the floor. I said "Seth, don't throw it!". He then looked me right in the eyes and said, "don't throw it!" I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped to the ground in disbelief and so did every body else's. I thought maybe I was just imagining it, but everyone else then busted out laughing and then Seth thought he was so cool and started cracking up also! A little later I wanted to see if he would do it again, so when he was eating his snack I said, "don't throw it!". He looked at me and again said, "don't throw!". He's so funny!
Also, Seth's Nonno (grandfather) stayed the weekend in STL and got to visit with Seth some. Seth immediately loved him and ran up to him with arms wide open.
Here are a few pics from the weekend.

Goodnight Moon

Last night me, Jerry and Seth were outside and it was still light out, but Jerry said, "hey Seth, where's the moon?". Seth then said "moo" and looked up. Okay, that may not sound all that impressive, but I was completely amazed that he actually looked up into the sky trying to find the moon! Where did he learn that? Jerry then told me that the moon was out the other morning when he dropped Seth off at daycare and he showed it to Seth. The are like little sponges these kids! They just absorb so much. It's just so amazing to me!

Weekend recap and Craig's list confession

Seth was a little grumpy this weekend and extremely clingy to momma, but as always, we had a great time together. He is still trying to get over his stomach bug and I also think he may be cutting his canine teeth. I'm not sure when babies usually get these teeth in, but I feel like he might be. He has all of his baby teeth except for the canines and 2 year molars. He also has not been eating much...I have heard that is normal for toddlers, but you haven't seen my son's ravenous appetite, so it kinda worries me a bit. Maybe it's just from the stomach bug.
So I have a confession to make...I'm a totally and completely addicted to Craig's List. I only wish i had discovered it sooner! I have purchased alot of things lately as well as sold some items. I got tons of play things for seth such as a climber, slide, tunnels, play roller coaster and all sorts of toys. I then cleared out a big corner in our basement and turned it into a play area for rainy days and cold days. Today's high is only 66, so we may be down there sooner than i hoped! Anyways, he loves it and it will be a nice change of scenery. I also bought him a little table and chairs set as you can see in the pics. He loves it and he looks like such a big boy sitting there!
He continues to say alot of words and now not only can he point at body parts when asked, he also says them by name. As i have mentioned before, he has mastered the words and signs for more, all done, and milk, and now he know eat, so when he's hungry, he runs to his chair and does the sign for eat. I love being able to communicate with him now!

I guess some good things must come to an end...

It has been about 4 months now that Seth has avoided illness, well yesterday it came to an end. Most of you know that starting this past January, he was sick at least 1 day a week and I have exhausted ALL of my sick days. I even had to call in on my very first day of work because he was sick. Well finally in May, the sickness began to slow down and we all finally got a break from it. Anyway, when i picked him up yesterday from daycare, they said he had just thrown up and he just wasn't acting himself. When i brought him home, he fell asleep in the car which is unusual and when I took him inside, all he wanted to do was snuggle, which is also unusual since he can't sit still for a minute. I took his temp and it was 101. I made him some dinner and he took one bite of banana and started throwing up. He then refused all food, but luckily, he loves water so much that by the end of the night he had chugged down 3 sippy cups FULL of water. After a few rounds of puking, i gave him a bath and then we snuggled together on the couch and watched sesame street. Usually after a bath he goes straight to bed, but i noticed he was acting alot better, so i figured he might be hungry. Sure enough, while we snuggled on the couch, he ate 2 pieces of toast and chugged down another sippy of water. I then put him to bed and he went to sleep pretty easily, so i thought he was going to be okay. Around 11:30 he started whimpering a little and sat up and played his music for a while. I couldn't tell if he had thrown up because he coughed a little, but then he went back to sleep. This morning when I walked in to wake him up, he and his bed were covered in throw up. My poor baby!!!! I felt awful, but he greeted me with a big smile and hug. I cleaned him up and since he didn't have a fever and acted himself again, we decided to send him to daycare. Turns out 3 other kids in his class are out sick too. I hope he is over it! Oh, and he was bitten 2 times yesterday...once on the arm and once on the butt!

NOT AGAIN!!!!

As I picked Seth up from daycare yesterday, his teacher said, "Seth has a few accident reports for you to sign." One was that he was behind a door and a teacher didn't see him and when she opened it, she knocked him in the head. He's okay and only has a small bruise. The second one was that he accidentally fell on top of another child and became frustrated when he could not get up and bit the little girl. The teacher said it wasn't hard, but he has also been trying to bite me some when he gets frustrated. Anyone have any ideas how to stop this??? I know it's probably a phase and his pediatrician said that most kids bite around this age, but I still don't like it.

Weekend recap

Seth and I had a wonderful weekend together, just me and him! Daddy has been gone since last Tuesday on a sales meeting trip. I can tell that Seth misses him very much! We have a picture of Daddy and Seth as a screen saver on the computer and a few times Seth saw it and started smiling and laughing and said Dada. It was very sweet! Seth and I went to the Magic House again for the second weekend in a row. He really likes it there and the older he gets the more he will be able to do. I discovered something about Seth this weekend...he has turned into quite the little biter!! yikes! He has only bitten one kid at daycare so far, but I find him trying to bite me often when he doesn't get his way. However, I found that if I act like I'm sad and hurt about it, he immediately stops what he's doing and runs over to hug me. He will then look straight into my eyes and give me a kiss on the lips and then smile at me. It is the sweetest thing ever and he does this every time! He is also talking so much and labeling just about everything he sees. I am giving up on his word list because i just can't keep track anymore! It is so much fun and I feel like i can have mini conversations with him now. Overall it was a fun filled weekend, but we can't wait to see daddy today! YAY! Oh, and I almost had a breakdown at daycare today when I dropped him off this morning because he was crying and reaching out for me when I told him bye bye. He really didn't want me to leave and I didn't want to leave him. Monday's are the worst for him because we have 2 whole days together and then Monday I have to leave him. I'm sure he got over it very quickly, but I'm still sad! :(

Diaper baby

How cool is this? We have all seen those diaper cakes, but these are called diaper babies. I'm not necessarily the creative type, but next time a friend has a baby, I might just try this! You can put it in an outfit of your choice, stuff it with diapers, put it in a basket with a blanket, binkies and toys or anything else you want. Just thought i would share.
