It's a girl!!

Jerry and i just found out yesterday that we are having a beautiful and healthy baby girl! The ultrasound tech was amazing and spent nearly an hour looking at every specific detail of our baby. I must admit that i believe we were both slightly in shock that it was a girl, especially because we both thought we saw "something" there, but turns out it is definitely a girl and we couldn't be happier. One great thing about having a girl is that we don't have to argue about the name! We both agreed on the name "Sophie" nearly 4 years ago before Seth was even born and now we finally get to use it. Not only do we love the name, but it was also Jerry's Grandmother's name so it has very special meaning. And no, her name is not Sophia, just Sophie and her middle name will be Eden so Seth and Sophie will have the same initials (not planned, we just liked the names). I will post the ultrasound pictures very soon! We just feel so blessed to have a healthy child and couldn't be happier. I'm still not so sure how Seth is taking the news and how much he really understands, but before we knew we were having a girl, Seth would almost always say he wanted a "boy". Well today as i was taking him to school, i told him that Mommy was going to have a girl and he was going to have a baby sister and he replied, "NO! I want a boy!". Maybe he does understand more than i thought, but i think he will love having a little sister and will be an awesome big brother!

a few updates

Seth continues to impress me daily with his vocabulary and new phrases and questions. A few cute things he has done lately:

--He can now sing the entire ABC song...sure he may miss a few here and there, but overall it is pretty darn good.
--He can easily count to 10 and has even gone as far as 13.
--He has figured out mine and daddy's name and if you ask him, he will tell you that my name is "wendy" and daddy is "jerry".
--One day Seth was acting, well...BAD, so i sent him to his room, which by the way, he actually likes going to his room when he is mad or upset. If he gets in trouble he will say, "i want to go to my room" and then he will run in there and lay in his bed until he cools off. Anyway, while he was in his room, Daddy was standing in the living room but in a place where he could still see Seth's bedroom door. Seth then cracked the door open and saw Jerry and said, "Hi Daddy!". Jerry said, "what are you doing?" Seth said, "i'm in my room because i was bad.". It was so cute.
--One not so cute thing that has suprised me is that Seth is saying, "i don't like you." Not sure where he picked that one up, but i'm sure it was from daycare. I wasn't expecting to hear that for another year or so.
--Seth continues to LOVE fruit and vegetables. He will eat ANY kind of fruit and it has to be fresh which is great by us! He also loves broccoli. One night he ate 3 big servings...Jerry and i were amazed by this.
--One night we were eating pizza and i asked Seth if i could have an apple. He is very possesive about his fruit, but he gladly gave me one. I then asked him if he would give daddy one, but daddy said, "that's okay, let me finish my pizza first". Seth then acted like he was going to give Daddy an apple, but then quickly drew his hand back and said, "you eat your pizza first!".
--The other day Seth and i were outside playing and he did something to me (can't remember exactly what), but i acted like i was sad about it. He then said, "are you sad mommy?" I said, "yes". He then said, "do you want some ice?".
--He is really a sweet and compassionate little boy. He does not like to see you upset and will give you hugs and kisses to make it "all better". I love this boy! I feel like a broken record, but i absolutely am having a blast with him...i love this age!
Here are a few recent pics that i took with my phone:
