We have really been talking to Seth about Sophie lately, especially since i only have 1 week left until the c section. He seems to be really excited about being a big brother, but we will see what happens when she is actually here. lol. We installed sophie's car seat the other day, and then yesterday as Seth was getting into his "big boy" chair, he looked over at sophie's seat and said, "hey mommy...someday sophie is going to come out of your belly and sit here next to me." It was very cute.
I can't help but feel a little guilty about having another baby. Don't get me wrong, i am very excited and this is definitely what i wanted, but maybe it's my hormones, but i get so sad for seth when i think about how his little world has already been turned upside down with the move to Georgia, but now he is going to have a little sister who will be taking up a lot of mommy's time. I would love any tips from you 2nd time mommies on how you balance time between your kids and what you do to make the older one feel just as special as he ever was...after all, he will always be my baby boy!

waaaay overdue!
Needless to say i haven't blogged in a very long time. I believe Halloween was the last time i blogged. I have been writing a few things down as they happen, but in my defense things have been, well, a little hectic lately with the move to Georgia and all. So here is my attempt to catch up on what has happened these past few months:
Christmas 2009:
Christmas was soooooo fun this year with Seth. He seemed to be really excited about Santa this year and didn't even cry when he sat on Santa's lap. In fact, after he warmed up to Santa, he wouldn't leave him alone and kept wanting to hug him. When it was his turn to sit in Santa's lap, he cautiously approached him and in an almost whisper said, "hi Santa...i want a lot of toys."

Seth had a blast making cookies on Christmas Eve:

He enjoyed showing off his Christmas presents:

A few cute sayings from Seth:
I was playing with Seth with some of his plastic toy animals when he picked up one and asked me what it was. I replied, "it's a bird." He then said, "actually, it's a flamingo...it's probably the most perfect bird i ever saw!".
We were building with legos and he looked up at me and said, "mommy, i am so proud of you."
He told me he wanted to watch a DVD, so i said, "which one?". His reply, "you know which one silly willy."
On our trip down to Georgia, Seth pants rode up past his knees and he shouted, "my knees are open!"
One night when Seth was about to go to bed, Nanny asked him for a kiss but he resisted, so she said, "but i love you." He replied, "i love you Nanny, but i don't want to kiss you."
Seth: I smell something
Me: What?
Seth: (turning around with butt in air) POOPOO!
Seth update:
Seth has handled the move to Georgia extremely well, probably better than Jerry and I. We decided to immediately enroll him in daycare because he really enjoys the interaction with other children. I think this was a wonderful decision because he has adjusted well. The only issue we are now having is at night time. This is difficult for us since he was such a great sleeper and always has been. He refuses to go to bed some nights and usually cries before falling asleep. He has also been waking up in the middle of the night acting scared and demanding someone to sleep with him. This is going to be very hard especially since we are having a baby in 2 weeks. It has gotten a little better though lately and he has slept through the night for 2 nights now. I think besides all of the changes in his little life, i believe his age is a great contributer to his sleep issues lately. I read that right around this age is when they begin having nightmares and their little imaginations become so active. However, other than that issue he has been just wonderful and hasn't really had any other issues. I am hoping we have gotten past the terrible 2's! Seth has been so much fun...i am loving this age. You can actually just sit there and have a full conversation with him. He is so into animals and can name just about any animal out there. I'm not talking about your basic bird, dog, lion, he can actually name specific animals such as howler monkey, toucan, anteater, sloth...you get the picture. He may not be able to name all of his letters yet, but gosh darn it he can tell you the difference between and leopard and cheetah!
Sophie update:
Sophie is doing great and growing just as she should. Today i am 37 weeks and considered full term. With our doctor's guidance, we have elected to do a C section on March 2nd. We feel this is the best way to go especially since Seth's delivery was traumatic to both him and I, plus i might have a pregnancy related thyroid issue, so we feel this is best. Thankfully, besides the expected discomforts of being 37 weeks pregnant, i did not develop the extremely painful Carpal Tunnel as i did with Seth, nor have my ankles even begun to swell and i can still wear my wedding band. However, i have kept my weight gain down with this pregnancy and instead of gaining 40 plus pounds, i have only gained 23! We still believe Sophie will probably be an 8 pounder, but no where near 9 1/2 pounds like her big brother was! Here is the most recent 3D ultrasound of Sophie. Things are a little tight in there, so her nose is a little smushed up, but isn't she cute! :) I think she looks a lot like big brother, but i guess we will see in 2 weeks.
