There are already so many differences between Sophie and Seth. I do think they look a lot alike, but Seth was born with practically black eyes and they never changed. Sophie's eyes are lighter and are, as of right now, a greyish color. Seth was also born with a large mongolian spot on his lower back and buttocks. It is always fun when i have to explain to a new care provider that no, we do not beat our son, it is just a birthmark. Sophie does not have this birthmark or any others that we can see.
Seth has been such a good big brother. He has never shown an interest in any other baby, but once Sophie was born he can't take his hands off of her. From the first day he met her in the hospital, he was already acting like a protective big brother. When the nurse came in to check on her, Sophie started crying and Seth was so worried that she was getting a shot. At home he always wants to give her kisses and tickle her toes and runs to her side when she cries and brings her toys.
It scares me to even write this because i am so worried that things will probably change, however Sophie is such a great baby...i mean just wonderful!!! She rarely cries and has even gone 4 hours between feedings quite a few times. I am just thankful that she has been so easy during my recovery, so if things do change, at least i will be feeling better from the surgery.
I just can't believe that i am a mom to a son and now a daughter. Balancing my time between Sophie and Seth has been a little bit of a challenge lately, but i know we will all eventually fall into a nice little routine.
Here are some pics of our beautiful new addition:
