Pretend Play

Seth is really starting to play "pretend" lately. It's so much fun. Last weekend we went to the Magic House and there was a room where you could have a "tea party". Seth loved it and pretended to pour us some tea and we all drank lots of it! He didn't want to leave that room, it was probably his favorite part of the museum that day! He has also been "brushing" Elmo's teeth and last night he pretended to be the cookie monster. He picked up a toy that was lying on the ground and pretended to gobble it up. He even made the Cookie Monster's sound effects and said "cookie". Last night Jerry and i were eating bruschetta and Seth wanted to eat like us, so he took a tomato that was on his plate and put it on his bread and ate the tomato off the bread. It was so cute. He also likes to pretend to go "night night" and clean the floors and help me vaccuum. I love this stage despite the tantrums. :) He is also singing songs with us like Old Macdonald and says "eei eei o" and he also likes to sing "Apples and Bananas".
I leave for Florida this Friday to attend the memorial service for my grandma. I decided to leave Seth behind in Missouri with daddy. I have NEVER, not once, in the past 20 months been away from Seth for even one day or night. In a way i am somewhat excited to have a little break although i am going to miss him like crazy! It's only for 4 days, but that is a long time for me. I don't know what i am going to do with all my free time. Maybe i will even sleep in one of those days...oh my goodness, i forgot what that feels like and i'm not sure i'll even be able to do it. At any rate, it will be a good bonding time for Jerry and Seth and a much needed rest for mommy.
